Hi! I'm William (or Will) Brannock, a graduate student currently studying machine learning and data science at the University of Virginia. In particular, I'm interested in Large Language Models (LLMs) and understanding how they make decisions and form beliefs. In practice, this has meant learning a lot about how models are post-trained using various Reinforcement Learning techniques. I am also interested in deep learning and MLOps more broadly.

Previously, I spent a few years doing data analytics and statistical modeling trying to increase routine vaccination uptake across Virginia. I am originally from SWVA and have an undergraduate degree in engineering from Virginia Tech.

Outside of school and work, some of my hobbies include watching college basketball, learning new things, and reading.
